stellar guest post, sometimes stellar storyteller

Do you want to reach a wider audience of friendly, interactive, motivational bloggers? Why not write me a guest post?

I am currently scheduling posts through May and June and would love to host you.

Click through to the Guest Post section and get a feel for the types of posts people are sending through.

If you’re interested, read through the guidelines below and send your posts or questions to nicolaauckland@gmail.com.

Guidelines:

  • Your post should be written on the subject of writing or reading. The content is your choice.
  • I will not accept any posts that contain offensive material so best to avoid anything with a political, racial or sexist slant. If it causes a sharp intake of breath, I will not publish it. Swearing in context is fine.
  • Posts should be a maximum of 1,500 words long. I will consider short stories up to 3,000 words.
  • You should provide a short author bio of 200 words together with a photo of yourself if you want to feature one.

    Nicola,

I have tried blogging. No one reads my blog. Look for Cleveland Sights at Google. It is one of my blogs.

    • Hi Chuck,

Apologies, I haven’t been ignoring your comment on purpose. It just slipped me by.

One of the most important things you can do if you want people to come to your blog is to make it easy for them to find you. At the moment, nobody can click through to your website through the comments you leave here because there is no link for them to click on. Are you a WordPress blogger? If so, make sure that you are logged in when you leave comments, that way WordPress will automatically leave a URL behind your name for people to click on. If you are not a WordPress blogger, try putting your URL at the end of any comments you leave on any blogs.

The second thing you must do is be an active blogger. Commenting on other people’s posts is a great way for people to learn your name and get familiar with your own blog. People will click through to your blog if they like what you are saying.

When you post, make sure you use tags on your posts. Without them your post is almost invisible. If you are a WordPress blogger, you can use up to eleven. To get an idea of the sorts of tags people use just look at the bottom any post and it should tell you.

I am by no means an expert but I have published a post recently about the things I have learnt whilst blogging, you will find it here: http://wp.me/p5g0se-1Qj

Gathering a following is a slow process. I have been blogging for two years now and have just over a thousand followers. Write posts about things people will read, tag them properly, advertise them on social media and comment on other people’s posts. That’s the only advice I can give you I’m afraid but I hope it helps.

      Regards,

      Nicola
