Inaugural #Microstory Challenge

This week, after much haranguing, Patrick Sponaugle finally relented and agreed to host a unique microstory contest. If you follow Patrick’s blog and Twitter, you will know he is the master of these Tweet-sized pieces of storytelling genius. If you don’t, it’s worth spending time over on his blog, especially if you’re a Game of Thrones fan.

All you have to do is write a story that can be told in a Tweet. You have to include the hashtag #microstory so technically you only have 129 characters to do it in. It’s much harder than it sounds.

The suggested theme for this month’s contest is Halloween, only because it’s October, but you can write a microstory on any subject you fancy. I’ve stuck with the Gothic vibe for my entry:

“Did not you see it Sir? The beast responsible?” He scooped at the girl’s discarded viscid skin. Dr Frankenstein made no answer.

  1. Thank you for being one of the interested parties in my hosting a contest, for participating, and for promoting the contest.

    It’s all much appreciated.
