Oh the horror! I have loved all the entries into this week’s six word story challenge. You did exactly what I hoped you would do with the duel purpose prompting left you and used it either as a genre or as a vessel to recount some other horrific tale.
They have ranged from the truly ghoulish, blood curdling fright fests we all love in the horror genre to the more subtle, personal horrors we can all associated with mortifying real life.
You have proved that what is perhaps an innocuous event to some people might be another’s worst nightmare. How would a mother feel who only has an empty swing to push? How would a patient feel who wakes up midway through an operation? On a lighter note, how do most of us feel when we peer through our fingers at the scales? Horrified, that’s how!
I could have read them all day – bravo to you all. Of course, since this is a challenge there can only be one winner and I have pleasure in announcing that the winner of this week’s challenge is:
Mirissa D Price with her story ‘Daddy’s shadow crept towards my door.’
Second place goes to:
PatrickSponaugle with his story ‘“Hello again, love” the Thing whispered.’
Third place goes to:
Fantasy Raconteur with her story ‘My reflection is smiling; I’m not.’
Congratulations to the deserved winners, please download one of the below badges and display it proudly on your blog as proof of your membership to the elite club of awesome authors.
Until next time,
