Best Served Cold – a 50 Word Story

In response to the Daily Post’s prompt – Fight.

Best Served Cold

Memories assault him, triggered by the sting of antiseptic fumes. His determined silence, his mother’s heartbroken tears.

His younger self learned to avoid bothersome speaking or breathing. His dream of invisibility an absurd desire.

His bloodied reflection is unrepentant. He’d shown no mercy, a broken spirit has none to spare.
