Weekly Six Word Story Challenge

Welcome to the Sometimes Stellar Storyteller Six Word Story Challenge.

This is a new feature I will be running every week, beginning today.

A new prompt will be posted every Saturday morning at 9am GMT for you to interpret in any way the muse grabs you. For one week only I am posting the challenge 12hrs early to allow more people to take part.

Today’s prompt is:

Write about a tricky situation.

My attempt at today’s prompt is:

He didn’t see the glass pane.

The Rules:

  1. Write a story in six words or less inspired by the prompt.
  2. Publish the story on your blog and include a pingback to this post so that everyone can read, appreciate and comment on your story.
  3. Read, comment and ‘like’ at least one other story published on today’s prompt.
  4. The winner will be the story with the most likes on their own post at the end of the challenge. The end of the challenge will be the same day at 10pm GMT.
  5. I will announce the winner on this post and include a link to the winning story.
  6. First, second and third place will have the honour of downloading and using the below highly coveted awards on their blogs should they wish to do so.

Good luck!!

  2. Hey Nicola,
Love the challenge and the initiative. The only thing I feel different about is the way the winner would be selected. My reason being someone with a larger number of followers can get more likes than someone else who’s story is better but is not as popular or does not have as many followers! Just a thought.

Hi shinepositivepower! When I attempted the pingback, I went to the 11th icon in the toolbar, when you are composing a new post. In the insert/edit link icon, you can copy and past the URL to this post in the link text box and then hit the add link box in blue, and that will create the pingback! If done correctly, you will see it on this post under Nicola’s comments- it says 7 Pingback, as of now.

      Hope that helps!

Good Morning Nicola! I think this is a really great challenge!! 🙂 I am excited to participate it in every week, just hope I remember it! Coming up with a ‘story’ in six words or less can be quite challenging, especially to those who love details!

Your attempt is great, I ran into a glass pane when I was a young girl! lol It happens! Hope you have a nice weekend, and I am looking forward to other responses from the blogging community 😀

p.s. this was the first pingback I have ever done with another blogger’s post, hopefully I did the pingback correctly!
