So, I’ve got a blog! What now?

I’ve been dithering about whether to start a blog for a while, have I really got anything interesting to share with the world? Anything that isn’t already being said by thousands of people in their own blogs? Well, maybe not but writing this will do a few things:

1) It will allow me to practice writing, something every writer needs to do regardless of whether they are a master of their craft or not.

2) It will banish the fear of pressing that ‘publish’ button, once my musings are out there they are out of my control but that’s what I want to happen isn’t it? I want my words to take on a life of their own and to affect people in a way that’s personal to them.

3) It will invite comment, criticism, debate and hopefully guidance from every one of you that have been finding your writing voice for longer than I have.

I, like many novice fiction writers, dream of that place where we write books, blogs or articles that people want to read, look forward to reading and maybe even pay to read. Until I get there , (because I really want to get there!), I will share my ups and downs with you, my work with you and hopefully, you’ll share your wisdom with me.

So, please hit the ‘Follow’ button on the right so I can let you know when I’ve written a new blog post. I’ll be publishing short stories and flash fiction here as well as chapters from my in-progress novel for you to sink your teeth into and rip apart (gently please :)).

I look forward to meeting you.

  2. I guess all of the newbie bloggers/writers can relate on what you have shared here Nicola 🙂 Thanks a lot for sharing and I hope to be on a journey with you.
