Hideout – A 50 Word story

Fear drips down my collar, its cold fingers stutter my rabid heartbeat. I coil myself tighter, breathing soft, guarded gulps.

In response to The Daily Post’s prompt of criticise:

Criticise

He fell across his plate. The contents of his head drawing the displeased look from his face as they oozed over the crisp Damask tablecloth.

Emily sat down to her salmon mousse and spooned the delectable fluffy starter into her mouth. She really didn’t see what he was complaining about.

Every day I’ve squeezed the life from my childhood pet, and every day he’s woken, reborn. Defiant. Never will I be free of Lucifer’s cat.
